When the Night Comes Alive

The night is quiet and dark, and you never know who you might encounter. Using remnant materials such as sheep's wool and packaging foam, Rosa has created puppet costumes to embody the imaginative creatures of the night. Your imagination forms part of your experience, and therefore part of your reality. Through this work, Rosa demonstrates that darkness and fear do not stand in opposition to playfulness, imagination, and beauty—they coexist in the night.

Rosa van den Goor is a multidisciplinary artist based in Nijmegen. Through puppets, drawings, costumes, film, and photography, she gives shape to her inner world. She loves to keep visible the human hand required to create something. By employing handcrafts such as sewing and felting, the underlying process of slowness and tactility remains evident, cultivating an appreciation for processes that take time.
