Language

For each performance, the spoken language is indicated. Many performances are also (mainly) wordless. In that case, a small globe icon appears on the performance page. This means that the performance is understandable to everyone, regardless of which language you speak.

Wheelchair accessibility

All our performances are wheelchair accessible, with the exception of Pouvoir at De Samenstroom. We want your visit to run smoothly, so please let us know in advance via info@schouwburgogterop.nl. That way, we can reserve a nice spot for you!

There is tiered seating at De Samenstroom. Performances take place on a raised stage. Because Pouvoir is performed on a table and you need to be able to look on the table, you will not be able to see the performance well if you are in a wheelchair in front of the tiered seating (the first rows  are also raised). For the other performances in that venue, you can follow the play well if you are in a wheelchair.

There are accessible toilets in De Plataan and in De Samenstroom.

Age recommendations

For all our performances, you will find a recommended age. This is a friendly guideline from the creators to give you an idea of what to expect. Of course, it is just a recommendation—you know your own child best. If you are unsure whether a performance is suitable, please feel free to ask us in advance.

Sign language interpreters and interpreters for the blind

Puppet International is increasing its accessibility with live sign language and audio description. Please note that these services are provided in Dutch.

At Puppet International, we believe that the magic of visual theatre is for everyone. That is why, for this year's festival, we are proudly collaborating with the professionals from Theater met Tolk (Theatre with Sign Language Interpreters) and the audio describers from Komt het Zien! (Come and See!).

Have low vision or no vision? An interpreter will describe the puppets, costumes, and on-stage action live through headphones. Before the show, there is a special 'meet & feel' session, where you can explore the set and props up close.

Dialogues and visual poetry are translated live into Dutch Sign Language (NGT). This ensures no one misses the essence of the story.
